Step 4: Get the right study materials
Get the right study materials. Getting the right preparation books and other study materials can drastically increase your studying efficiency and reduce the total time you need to devote to studying.| SAT II Subject | Best preparation books | Evaluation |
| Chemistry | Princeton Review
|
Well organized, concise yet comprehensive |
| Math | Princeton Review
|
Well organized, good instruction, comprehensive |
| US or World History | Princeton Review
or Barrons |
Neither is great. Princeton Review is far too short to learn more than a basic outline of history; Barrons is too detailed and excessive. Princeton has better practice tests. |
| Biology | Princeton Review
|
Princeton Review is concise and easy to understand, but a bit too basic. Barron's goes much more in depth, which will help you more on the test. |
| Spanish |
|
Both are comparable to each other. Barron's has a great reference/vocab section at the back. Princeton Review has detailed answer solutions and translations. Both Barron's and Princeton Review have good practice tests. |
