The spring semester of your senior year is a great time to apply for scholarships. College applications will be done and school work will slowdown. On the other hand, college is coming up and along with it, formidable tuition costs. Apply for scholarships to improve your writing abilities, win accomplishments for your resume, and earn money at the same time.

While AP exams during senior year won’t help your college applications, they will count for college credit at most colleges. Take multiple AP exams, especially in subjects that you want to skip out of in college.

The somewhat relaxed time of senior year means you have more time for yourself this year, unlike junior year for many. Have fun, continue your self improvement, pursue your interests, focus on whatever projects or goals you've been working on for the past years, and start planning for the future. Make sure that by the time college comes around you understand yourself--who you are, what makes you happy, even what you want the rest of your life to look like. One era of your life is ending, and a completely new one is beginning. Tie up all the loose ends and get ready for the rest of your life.

It is important that you not only participate in a host of activities, but also that you excel in them. One of the best ways to do that is to assume leadership positions. These show a higher level of commitment as well as your ability to lead.

Look for a job and/or an internship. Both are good experiences as well as resume builders. Plus, it never hurts with a job or paid internship to have a little extra cash.
